The aim of our breeding is to produce ponies with good breed type, correct conformation and good movements. This enables the many different use of the ponies.

Shetlandpony is the smallest native pony breed of the United Kingdom. The height of adult pony must not exceed 107 cm.

The breed comes from the Shetland Isles, which belong to United Kingdom. The breed is very hardy because of the barren climate of the Isles.

Ponies have good movements because of the uneven ground in Shetland.

Charasteristics of the breed are robustness, stamina and presence.

Ponies have worked as help of farmers in the Isles by carrying peat long distances and for transportation. When the Mine Act forbidded women and children working in the coalmines the demand for ponies in mines grew rapidly. The latest of the ponies working in mines were lifted up to the ground in 1991.

Nowadays only imagination of the owner limits the use of the Shetlandpony.

We have a small quality marestock based on Waulkmill-, Transy-, Harviestoun- and Marshwood-bloodlines.
